How to Be Beautiful

Being beautiful from both the inside and out are amazing topics we discuss within Radiant Purpose.

Beauty is something that I am honestly sick and tired of seeing being attacked.

The slaughter of women’s value as designed by God is from the Enemy.

There are so many provocative and brazen false images of beauty that we are bombarded with constantly. I want to teach and promote authentic beauty that is eye-opening for women.

I want you to be excited about the gift of beauty that has been given to us by God!

As I have shared with you before I struggled with painful insecurities growing up that were rooted in being molested and my parent’s separation. Because of this I am devoted to seeing as many women as possible triumph in their beauty that comes from Jesus Christ.

The love and grace of Jesus is sensational. It takes broken, battered people and transforms us into His image which includes a restoration of our beauty.

1. To Be Beautiful, Be Yourself

Too many women and girls I see are in agony. They are in a deadly crisis of their identity. They do not know who they are and because of that they copy others, search for approval from others, and are discontent.

This plague against women includes a dissatisfaction with how they have been created. I have learned that to truly be beautiful as God has made me, I have to be myself.

You have to be yourself to be beautiful. You cannot hate who you are and how you look. Get to know who you really are. What do you really like? Who are you with no one else around? What are you good at?

I am daring you to begin to question if you are living as yourself. It will be surprising to you when you begin accept who God has made you; physical attributes, strengths, weaknesses, quirks, and all. This is how to be truly beautiful.

2. To Be Beautiful, Be Real

How authentic are you? It is easy to bargain for the love and approval of others at the expense of your beauty.

Do you lean more towards being scandalous in an attempt to be beautiful or promoting a lonely, feeble version of beauty?

Either one is not real. Don’t make the mistake of pretense. You can be honest in who you are, what you like, how you have been created.

Many women are blinded to how truly beautiful their authenticity is. When we live from a place of truth we have a wondrous opportunity to give others the permission to do the same.

3. To Be Beautiful, Be Your Best

How to Be Beautiful Blog Post

My heart is to be bold and continue to share this principle: be your best! Everyday, dress your best! Give your best. Share your best. It is no good when women give up trying.

We need to show up with 100%. I’m constantly challenged to have the courage to look my best, share my best work, give my best ideas, and live my best life.

Warning: this is not easy because as women, we have the hidden fears. What if what I do is not enough? What if I am judged? What if?

Let all of that go! Regardless of what others think or even your own insecurities, give your best everyday!

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” -Colossians 3:23-24

4. To Be Beautiful, Be Feminine

How to Be Beautiful

Feminine: having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with women, especially delicacy and prettiness. (

Feminism: the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. (

Being feminine is a gift. Now I am not saying that all women have to wear pink and frills, BUT I think we desperately need women who are strong, beautiful and feminine.

Feminism is toxic because men and women are different. We were created different. I am definitely against the maltreatment, abuse and exploitation of women and children.

I will speak out against abuse and write about the victimization of the vulnerable. But, I don’t believe the answer is the emasculation of men or for women to lose their uniqueness.

As human beings both men and women are special with incredible value. Women have spectacular gifts and abilities that men do not. There are things we can do that men cannot and vice versa.

God created us differently because we need one another. But, the deception I see is that there are women who are desperate to be treated as men. I think the desire to be valued, respected, loved, and cherished is a God-given one.

The catastrophe is when women fight men for control, position and for rights that are not always life giving. I believe that feminism has stolen the beauty from women.

Women were created to be beautiful and as helpers. Whenever women feel the need to look, act, and be like men I think it is hazardous to our society and world as a whole.

When we as women begin to receive healing that inner beauty will be a glorious reflection to the world that is desperate for beauty.

5. To Be Beautiful, Be Loving

How to Be Beautiful

Love is beautiful. People that love are beautiful. Men love in ways that include sacrifice, providing, and protecting.

Women love in those ways also, but there is a nurture and care we have been gifted with in the way we love. There is an unconditional love that you and I can display that is the essence of beauty.

I believe the reservoir of love comes from Christ but I also think He’s poured love into women that can be up lifting. How many love songs are there where men are singing about the women in their lives?

How many great things are accomplished by people who credit a mother’s love and care being their greatest source of inspiration?

Ladies, our ability to love is miraculous and a special gift. Do not ever forget that to be beautiful we have to love. When you love, you are beautiful.

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
-I Corinthians 13:4-7

6. To Be Beautiful, Smile

How to Be Beautiful

I know this might sound incredibly simple, but a smile goes a long way. Again, I have shared before I am not good at hiding my feelings on my face.

I know that a smile needs to be my most used facial expression.

When we smile it is beautiful. It can be one of our greatest beauty assets. Your unique smile is a gift. Show it to the people around you.

A smile shows that you are happy and pleased with yourself, as well as, other people. Don’t be afraid to smile. It doesn’t cost you anything and won’t hurt.

Practice smiling. It actually will lift your mood too! It can be so energizing to smile at the world.

Also, when you are having a hard time or discouraging day; search for something to smile about. It will make a difference, trust me.

7. To Be Beautiful, Receive

How to Be Beautiful

Women can have the hardest time receiving. But, we are beautiful when we receive. We must receive the love and grace of God in our lives. We need Jesus.

This is the most beautiful act, to receive love. When we accept the love of Jesus and His living presence in our lives, we are beautiful.

We need the love of Jesus to be beautiful because it changes us from the inside out. We get to know Him and become more like Him.

He is the core of beauty.

We also need to learn to receive the love of others. Husbands, children, friends and family all express love in different ways. We were made to love and be loved. It is beautiful when we can receive the love of others just as we enjoy giving it away.

8. To Be Beautiful, Be Strong

How to Be Beautiful

There is beauty in true strength. We get physically strong by working out. We get mentally strong by reading and learning new things.

We get emotionally strong by experience different emotions in trying times. We get spiritually strong by growing in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ.

Don’t fear strength. Embrace it. Having strength and resiliency rooted in Christ is beautiful.

9. To Be Beautiful, Relax

How to Be Beautiful

At the same time that strength is beautiful so is learning when to relax. As women it can be easy to work hard and not learn to say no.

Stress, worry, fear, and anxiety are not beautiful. We need to learn to relax in every area. Learning to relax, to be refreshed, to be renewed helps us so we can continue.

Being able to chill is beautiful. A woman who is relaxed is at peace. She is not controlling and tired.

When we relax we can be still and listen without guilt. Then we can reflect beauty to the world.

10. To Be Beautiful, Give

How to Be Beautiful

Lastly, to be beautiful we need to give. We need to give of our true selves to those around us. We need to give of our time. Be a listening ear. Be a word of love.

Give a healing touch. There is a powerfully beautiful thing that happens when we give. We in turn are filled. Giving of who we are and what we have produces a magnificent effect. People are changed. We are changed.

This is beautiful.

The world needs your unique gift. Do not belittle your place of delight. What is that thing that you do and give freely? That is your place of beauty.
You need to continue to allow yourself to fulfill that place and share your beauty with the world.
